We are moving to UE4 from another engine for our new project and in this particular project we are likely to have a lot of AI “Bots” in level each with what we are considering pretty heavy decision trees.
We like the idea of EQS for the likes of finding cover and deciding the closest (object / location) but have noticed that all the documentation still says “Experiementat, don’t use in producton”.
The last time we looked at this was I think a couple of years ago (we went with another engine for that project) and at the time it was “Experiementat, don’t use in producton”, it worries me that this has never been moved out of experimental.
Does anyone have any opinion of EQS’s stabiltiy and its over readiness for “Production”… I would hate to start down this road, run into problems and be told… well… it is still experimental and not ready for production.
As it has been experimental so long it worries me that it is like many features from another well known engine that seems to always have everything in “Preview”…
PS… please do not start some war of engines, not painting UE4 with that brush at all… just this particular feature and how it might affect whether it is safe to use today in 2020.
