This happens to almost every map: you get featured, players spike, then Epic’s Picks ends and the map collapses.
Either Epic is consistently picking maps that can’t succeed long term, or more likely, the algorithm sees the player loss from leaving Epic’s Picks as your map falling off and suppresses it even harder.
So you’re doomed if you don’t apply, and doomed if you do.
As a quick fix I suggest we bring Most Engaging back. The strongest performing maps coming off Epic’s Picks should have somewhere to go where new players can still actually find them, instead of disappearing from Discover overnight.
