I really hope these games are actually a lot better than they look
A box pvp (the environment is a box) gets featured in epic’s picks, but my maps get rejected for environment when submitting to Epic’s Picks

What are you trying to say by that? You can not judge a map only based on its type/genre or a thumbnail. If two different creators with different skills and perceptions of many aspects of creative work will try to do the same thing, their end result could be very different for the independent observer.
I tried some of the maps that you mentioned and I totally get it why they are in Epic’s Picks. For example that Patchwork Parkour is one of the most unique and interesting maps that I played among all of Fortnite maps. Maybe you should play these maps first before you just dismissed them like that. That Surf Tycoon is also cool, fun and just very well made.
There are things about Epic that we can and should criticize with an intent to make the whole ecosystem better, but unfounded criticism will not help and in the end could only result in weakening our voices.
