Hello there,
As a 10 year industry veteran. And 4 year Unreal Engine Teacher at Gnomon. I have notice that all of the tutorials I used to recommend for new comers to the engine, all from UE4. Have been removed / deleted. Most of the content follows a very similar workflow as with UE5, so it’s confusing to as of why.
What has replaced it has been substantially mediocre, and even poor. Look at the brick break example. This is under the author of Epic Games. Yet the tutorial is vague, the videos, code, and text all contradict one another. And there are gaps to what is needed to actually produce the desired product of the tutorial.
This is really disappointing. As someone who first learned from Epic. To see it fall so terribly low. I have to tell my students to avoid most tutorials on youtube now. As most of the most ill informed, poor performance, and utter junk tutorials seem to come up as the first choice in most searches.
This is how the future generations will fail to benefit from what Tim Sweeney had wanted to engine to become. Get your house in order Epic.
