When the forum transitioned to the new format (when UE5 went live), all of the UDK posts from the old forum have now been lost. All of the links just redirect to https://forums.unrealengine.com/.
There are still those of us who are working on live UDK projects (with many active players), who rely on the content of the legacy forums for continued development.
PLEASE can you look into restoring this content. There is over a decade’s worth of information that is no longer available.
An example of one of the many thousands of links that has been removed:
What I’ve been doing for the last week or two is searching for what I need on Google, then using the Google cached page.
You posted this over the weekend, so it’s not surprising that there wouldn’t be an official response yet. In a couple of days, if there isn’t a response, do you want to try tagging specific people? Do you want us to report your post?
I actually saw this happened last week.I did send a message to VictorLerp(5 days ago?) as he was the one that fixed it last time(notified people from epic team), but still no word from him.I personally will wait a few more days and try with another epic employee from the forums.
I know it is not ideal, but for those struggling, here is a example(with the word kismet) for searching with cache (just paste it in google)
Hey all—we’re investigating the issue and will report back as soon as we have an update!
Thanks for your patience while we dig in. Sorry about startling anyone
Thank you for the response @Amanda.Schade.
It’s very reassuring to know you understand the importance of the legacy forum content.
The UDK forums have been restored—thanks all!
This is fantastic news! Thank you so much for the continued support
Much appreciated.Thank you!
Sadly I think something broke again as its showing a blank page.
Can anyone please confirm?
We’re seeing it here too. We’ve alerted the team and will share an update once we have something. Thanks!
Annnnd we’re back online. Some leftover grumbles from the other day, but should be sorted.
Thanks again for getting this sorted out so quickly. Much appreciated.
@Amanda.Schade I’m afraid it looks like the legacy UDK forum is down again. Getting HTTP 500 errors when accessing any page on the forum.
Would you mind taking a look please
Is there any way to post on those forums as these ones everyone is posting 5 stuff?
