I know many other people have had this problem, but I’ve followed through all the answers given by others and nothing has helped.
The Epic Launcher has suddenly stopped being able to connect to the internet.
It takes up to a minute for the Launcher to even open, and when it does, I get the message “Error! No version information received.”
If I select “OK” and try to log in anyway, it says it cannot connect to the internet.
In following the instructions of others, I’ve tried allowing lsass.exe through my firewall, I’ve tried turning on SSL and such, I’ve tried running the launcher as Administrator, I’ve made sure the launcher itself in all forms is allowed through my firewall, and I think there were other things I tried as well, but none of it has worked.
Hi Grimwolf,
Try the suggestions in this section of our troubleshooting guide.
If nothing works, follow the instructions towards the bottom of that page to generate your Debug Logs and post them here along with your Dxdiag (systems specs).
Okay, thanks. Adding -http=wininet to the shortcut fixed it.
I’m very curious though why this was necessary. Feels like a band-aid.
You’re correct, this is a sort of ‘band-aid’. Our Launcher team is using this workaround while they investigate the root cause.
