Around 6months the launcher been crashing instantly when it logs in. Sometimes reinstalling help and it might work few days but then again crashing everytime in both 32bit and 64bit binary. Ryzen 3850X, Win10 64Bit, RTX2080 (newest drivers). Everytime this IsInGameThread() -error crash. No issues in editor. Ran the DXSetup in launcher folder.

Same issue here, with the same assertion failure for Epic Games Launcher. It started happening around a similar period, but it was only effecting 32bit, 64bit launcher was fine until the past 2 weeks.

Cannot find any info on this myself, tempted to reinstall EGL, but as you stated that is only a very temporary fix.

Yes, still broken for me. Havent found out what could cause it. Got once in today, it said UE5 requires newer launcher version. Then I relaunched 64bit with shortcut and now both 64bit/32bit are broken again. Wouldnt want reinstall the launcher often since it may mess my project causing to compute shaders again and again.

EDIT: And as one strange thing it uses 32bit launcher as default. Still changing to 64bit dosent help. Installed newest version again without getting rid of this bug.

I removed that folder as well, as its general solution to EGL problems, allowed me to login, but for me the issue ultimately returned later.

Removing localappdata → epicgameslauncher-folder, allows to login to the launcher. But installed engines might not show. Started installing engine again and then replaced the folder with my old ue4.26 folder which started launcher to crash again when logging in. Bit suspecting if some plugin is causing the problem. Houdini/Megascans as one plugin outside marketplace.

Broken here too again. Need to remove that folder everytime to access launcher then hope that dont need to reinstall engines.

RememberMe setting set to Enable = False in GameUserSettings.ini, got me in too. Will see if its crashing from that auto signing in.
