Epic Launcher freezes my cable TV

That is really bizarre, but a couple things that will help us figure it out are:

  1. Could you please post a copy of your DxDiag text file for us? You can create it by pressing Start, then type dxdiag, press enter or select the dxdiag app/command from the list, then press “Save all information” which will output a text file that you can attach to a post here.

  2. Does this ever happen with any other programs? Does the signal to your TV become distorted or flicker when you are downloading something at it’s peak speed?

  3. Do you use a cable splitter, where one input is split into two separate lines with one going into the modem and the other to the TV? Or is the modem connected through a different wall outlet?

EDIT:

  1. Could you please let us know what kind of TV you have, whether it is a smart tv, etc as well please.

I’m facing similar issues to two portuguese users that have posted here previously:

However, changing UdpMessaging or Engine.ini didn’t made any difference. Once I turn on Epic Launcher, my TV freezes with an interval that ranges between 5 to 40 secs. If I turn the Launcher off right after, it makes no difference. The TV will continue to freeze until I .

Beside the fixes that worked for those 2 users, I’ve also changed power management settings for both wired and wireless settings.

I have those 3 changes still in use at the moment.

My router is a Thompson TG784n, my ISP is MEO services and my Ethernet is Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114

Hello, I don’t know if you already fixed it but I had the same problem and got it fixed by going to your C: > Users > [UserNameUsed] > %appdata% > Local > EpicGamesLauncher > Saved > Config > Windows.
Open as notepad and find the line: MulticastEndpoint;
In the port number change the last 3 digits to 345. For example: 230.0.0.1:6666 —> 230.0.0.1:6345

Worked for me and hopefully will work for you!

I’m having also the same problem with the epic games client.
Every time i launch the client (nothing downloads on the client or PC) my TV starts crashing. My TV is connected to a tvbox that os connected to the router (). I already tried to solve this problem by reading 3 similar posts on the fórum but with no success. Changing the Numbers on the engine file also made no Diference. I also limited the download to 30kb.s with Netbalancer but the client isnt evento downloading anything.

What can i do ?

I had the same problem and only now got it solved. I just posted an answer in this post. In short, just call support (16 209) and tell them you can’t play Fortnite. They will remotely update your home gateway and solve the issue.
