Epic Launcher FAB Library Broken – All Downloads Failing

I am currently unable to download or install any assets or plugins from my FAB Library inside the Epic Games Launcher.

What Happens

  • Any download attempt from FAB fails.

  • I cannot install the Unreal Engine 5.7 plugin for Fab.

  • I also cannot install other plugins, such as WCG Plugin.

  • Even attempting to install an engine version results in similar failures.

Error Messages Received

  1. Unreal Engine 5.7 plugin for Fab

    • Status: Download failed

    • Message:

      “An unknown error has occurred during installation of Unreal Engine 5.7 plugin for Fab.”

    • Error Code: FAB-FAB001

  2. WCG Plugin

    • Status: Install failed

    • Message:

      “Could not load installation information. Please check if the installation has been removed or existed on an external drive.”

    • Error Code: IS-0009

  3. WHAT I HAVE TRIED ALREADY

    2. I fully uninstalled the Epic Games Launcher and removed all remaining launcher-related folders to ensure a clean reinstall. After reinstalling the launcher, the issue still persists, and downloads continue to fail.
    3. Lastly, I have never encountered this issue prior to now.
  4. ADDITIONAL HELP REQUESTED

    If anyone has experienced a similar issue or has any suggestions on what else I could try to resolve this problem, I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Please also provide your launcher logs. You can get these by going to the launcher > Settings > Show logs and attaching the zip folder.

Also, have you reached out directly to Fab support with this issue? I want to check whether there’s already something in process and make sure we can streamline the investigation.

As soon as I’m able to, I’ll export the launcher logs and attach the zip file here.

I haven’t contacted Fab Support yet, but I will do so if needed.

@SkyeEden I tried downloading something else from FAB, but it still fails. I’m not sure what else to try at this point, as this is becoming very frustrating. Have you found anything in the logs?
