Epic Launcher Fab integration bug – Assets download correctly but listing pages always return “Page not found”

Hello,I’m having a problem with assets downloaded from Fab.

The download process completes successfully, but after it finishes, I get an “Asset not found” error. The asset does not appear correctly in the Content Browser and cannot be used in the project.

I tried restarting Unreal Engine, verifying files, and re-downloading the asset, but the issue persists.

Has anyone experienced this problem with Fab assets?
Is there a known fix or a correct way to force Unreal to properly register the downloaded assets?

Hey there @omersdogru! Does this issue occur only with Launcher vault assets or with assets via the Fab plugin as well?

The video shows the issue happening when installing through the Epic Launcher.

The asset downloads and is added to the project, but it does not appear correctly in the Epic Launcher.
If the asset contains materials, those materials get broken.
If you open the original project where the asset comes from, everything works correctly.

However, when I add the same asset to a new project or to an existing different project, it is added, but materials and textures are broken.
At the end of the video, when I apply the material to a Landscape, everything becomes completely black.

I have not used the Fab plugin inside Unreal before.
Right now, I am downloading assets via Window > Fab.
I hope this information helps to identify and solve the issue.

Edit: I am downloading assets via Window > Fab, but no installation or download screen appears. The downloads do not show up in Epic Launcher either. There is no loading or installation UI at all. Then I click Add to project from Fab, the asset name briefly appears in the bottom-right corner and then disappears, but no actual install window opens.

That’s interesting. It’s acting as though it cannot find the page itself, but it looks like the assets did download. This could be due to a network or firewall issue blocking the Fab module in the launcher from accessing the site correctly.

Some Antivirus (for example ESET NOD32) software can block the node utility itself but usually presents a bit differently.

This issue came up often back on the original Marketplace/Quixel this way:
