So, since the Epic Game Store has opened, the launcher has become a bit of a mess. Identical names in different tabs/contexts (Like Library for example).
I personally think it makes sense to pull the Unreal Engine portion from the Game Store portion and have 2 separate launchers. I prefer to keep my professional development world (peanut butter) out of my gaming world (chocolate).
The Launcher, as it is now is a bloated and confusing mishmash of reasons to exist, and I think it a very clean split to keep the dev parts separate from the gamer/consumer parts. Yay/Nay?
That’s neat. didn’t know you could do that. But ultimately, I do in fact want the game launcher available somewhere, just not mixed in with my Unreal Engine (work) stuff. I could make 2 accounts, but I’d still only have one launcher on a system, and I’d have to keep switching accounts on the same launcher, which would be even more annoying.
Yeah I agree with that, I wish it would happen as well, as I also would want to use 2 accounts - one for production and one for gaming. But so many people have voiced that request so many times already and Epic didn’t even reply to it, so I doubt it’s going to happen. I’m just glad I can hide the gamestore and that stuff.
