I am solo indie developer from Russia and have game project in development. First of all, from what I know, there is no way to make payments from my country to Europe or USA anymore. I won’t be able to pay royalties to Epic Games, unless there are options that I don’t know about. Secondly, the unclear announcement I told about in the topic’s name. I need to know what does this all mean exactly as soon as possible. Russian game developers can’t use Unreal Engine to create and sell games anymore? My project is a couple of month from full completion, and I have a contract signed with a publisher.
Probably Due To Last Ukranian Wars, Other Countrys And Companys Pulling Off From Russia That’s Just A Guess Thou. Might Be Some Other Reasons Aswell. Probably U Should Ticket Some Employee About It For Direct Response.
Hello @Zezkaii , and thanks for the quick reply! So, developers in Russia don’t need to worry about the games they are making. The only question remains is the question about paying royalties to Epic Games. Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal stopped working here, and our banks are under the sanctions. What methods could Epic Games suggest for paying royalties to them in current situation?
I’d like to note that most people in my country are against the war and against wars in general. No war but class war is still quite a popular slogan here, even 30 years after the end of the USSR. But our government doesn’t listen to any anti-militarist voices, so this situation may last who knows how long, maybe even for years.
