Epic games launcher won't run (after initial download)

Installed Epic Games Launcher from site, tried to run the Epic Games Launcher as administrator. Program asks if I want to allow program to make changes to computer, click yes. Nothing happens.

Lenovo 9979a1u
bios: Lenovo thinkcentre bios ver 2rkt63.0
Processor Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHZ
Memory 4096 MB Ram
Direct X 11

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS
Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5.2 for windows 8.1 installed

Tried uninstalling and installing, changed compatibility mode after- just in case, nothing.

Hi aaronhummer,

Sorry to say but your graphics card only supports DirectX 9Ex. Unreal Engine 4 requires a DirectX 11 capable graphics card as minimum specification.

Thanks, works on my laptop, so no problem. Would be nice if the launcher could give some sort of error message, so at least a guy has a clue what is holding up the program.
