I’ve had 5.7 installed for a while now and wondering why I haven’t been getting hotfix updates (5.7.3 being the latest). Today I just figured out why. Gemini will tell you to sign out, close app, sign in, clear web cache, or just fully reinstall. I was almost to the point of fully reinstalling the launcher when I tried a last ditch effort of uninstalling 5.7 and re-installing it to see if it would work (I didn’t have faith in the launcher uninstall reinstall method).
To uninstall 5.7, it told me I had to first close down my running instances of UE, fair enough. Behold, once I closed the editor / rider, an update button appeared on my UE install. What in the flying F, my work computer basically has UE running ALL THE TIME, cause I’m working. How am I supposed to know there’s an update for the engine, when I’m already using it?
This seems like bad UX to me. There’s no little exclamation mark to say the editor is ready for an update, no indication at all, please fix :(.
