Epic Games Launcher - Threats Detected

My computer is suddenly throwing up ‘Threat Detection Warnings’ whenever I try and open the Epic Games Launcher.

“Epic Games Launcher does not have a valid digital certificate”
“Epic Games WebHelper does not have a valid digital certificate”.

Then it shuts down. Everything working fine yesterday with no issues. Also around the same time as the outgoing links in the marketplace started throwing up security errors. Does anyone have any insights as to what is going on please?

Hi,
The Digital Certificate hes expired.
Uninstall the Epic Games launcher
delete the directory
rmdir c:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\EpicGamesLauncher
Download and install a new copy of the Epic Games Launcher

Seems a tad drastic!

What will happen to the tons of Unreal Engine Market Place content and games etc I have purchased.

If they have let their valid certificates lapse, why is that on me? Surely EG just needs to renew their certificates, would be kind of unprofessional if they don’t.

@hevsbee ,
Just try without purging the AppData. No one can tell where the certifcates are stored. Your EG new certificates are installed and Marketplace stuff is restored when you login again.
You should remember that content bought outside the Launcher WONT be restored
