Epic Games Launcher not starting at all

Hi, I’m having lots of Issues trying to launch the epic games launcher. If I click on it nothing happens, same thing if I run it as an admin, add the “http winset” thing or the open GL command. literally nothing has worked. I’ve also tried launching directly from the folder just to check the shortcut and I’ve looked at the launcher help. my PC has been running the engine without any problems since I downloaded it 3+ months ago. Please help me as this is a huge bottleneck in the development process.

system specs:
core i5 haswell
gt 840m
8GB RAM

all have newest drivers available

Hi Chrisnchips,

Try any of the suggestions in this section of the troubleshooting guide that you haven’t already tried.

If nothing works, follow the instructions towards the bottom of that link to generate your Debug Logs and then post them here along with your entire Dxdiag (systems specs).

hey Tj, I’ve tried the other suggestions to no avail, so I’ve uploaded my dxdiag and log files like you requested (all in a zip folder).

Hi Chrisnchips,

Can you navigate to “C:/Program Files/Epic Games/Launcher/Engine/Programs/NoRedist/UnrealEngineLauncher/” and see if there is a “SelfUpdateFiles” folder there? If so, try manually moving the folders/files from there to “C:/Program Files/Epic Games/Launcher/”

open your files, go to your “Epic Games” folder click “Launcher” click “Engine” click “Binaries” click “Win64” or “Win32” whatever your computer needs the scroll down and try “EpicGamesLauncher” application. my original launcher didn’t work, but this one does. i don’t have an answer for you besides this works for mine. my other launcher says i clicked it and it just spins for a half second and stops and nothing happens. i tried this method and it works every time only if i leave it in the folder so you may have to just keep it in the folder. it will let me drag it to my hot-bar but i have the same issue where it wont load so give this a go
