Epic Games Launcher keeps crashing after unintalling UE 5.7

I tried uninstalling UE 5.7.4, but the launcher kept crashing. I went to the file location and deleted the 5.7, but now the version shows the Repair button and still will crash if I try to uninstall. I tried reinstalling the launcher and restarting my computer and the issue persists. Further uninstalls fail then cause random crashes of the Laucher even when not interacting with it.

I tried uninstalling 5.5.4 too, but that also results in a crash.

How can I get rid of 5.7.4, 5.5.4, and prevent these crashes?

I found a solution.

  1. Manually delete the version files (5.7 for example) in explorer.
  2. Shut down Epic Launcher (even in background)
  3. Restart Epic Launcher and “Repair” version to install it again
  4. Now it should uninstall cleanly
