Epic Games Launcher Crash on launch

I could not do the ARK fix as i do not have that game installed, but the following fixed the issue for me.

I just renamed “Epic Games” folder at path C:\Program Files\Epic Games\ to EpicGames (C:\Program Files\EpicGames) so the space is the only difference, and then launched.

Now launcher works but my installed games were not detected so i closed the launcher from tray and just changed the name back to C:\Program Files\Epic Games\ and launched again and for some reason it works like normal now.

Thought I’d post my fix. I’ve got all my games on a separate drive (G:). I used Disk Management in Windows and gave the drive a different letter (V: in my case but it shouldn’t matter), opened the Launcher and it worked fine. With it still open I changed the drive letter back and have sucessfully installed Rocket League

Figured this out. I had to go into my anti-virus program and add an exception for the Epic Games folder. The launcher works fine now.

I’m having the same issue and I was wondering where you found how to do this fix. I don’t know where you fixed it, and I would like to know.

same problem brotha

I could fix this by renaming the subfolder “Pending” inside…
C:\ProgramData\Epic\EpicGamesLauncher\Data\Manifests

I renamed it to have a backup rather than deleting it.

Cheers,
Dominic

MY FIX: So I use a dual monitor setup and the epic games is set to launch on my monitor using my GFX card, and for the longest time it would crash after I login over and over. I found out what was happening was the notifications for new and free games in the bottom right were clipping into my second monitor not hooked into my gfx card but my cpu(at a lower res) causing the crash… so disabling one of my monitors and changing the notifications for free games and stuff fixed the crash for me. But if the epic games launcher or anything combined with it even goes near the right of my screen and touches the other display even a bit its an instant crash… It sucks because the steam launcher I can drag back and forth no problem… But yeah hope this helps!
