Same issue here.
Of course today we learned Epic might be a bit fed up with Apple. Oh, well…
Well, now we know why we’re having these issues.
same problem here. Waiting for an update for I can play epic games again. I would be willing to install a beta client. Saying it’s not supported is a cheap answer. I’m sure Epic is working on a new client for the new OS that is coming out.
This is now working with the latest Big Sur update.
Now it seems to work with Beta 5 of Big Sur!
Epic Games fixed this bug in Beta 5. It’s still fixed in Beta 7
True ) They fixed it )
Big Sur 11.1
Epic Games Launcher 11.0.1
Crashes instantly on launch every time.
Note: I am using a MacBook Pro on macOS Big Sur and it has both the Intel internal GPU and a Radeon discrete GPU.
If you force the application to use the discrete GPU it works for me. I went in to the settings for the battery, clicked the Power Adapter settings on the left, UNCHECKED the automatic graphics switching option, then launched the launcher with:
open /Applications/Epic\ Games\ Launcher.app --args
and it opened and worked. While the launcher was running, I re-enabled the automatic switching setting so I wouldn’t forget. I image I may have to disable it again to launch the Unreal Editor, but I am not sure.
