Please increase the mouse wheel scroll amount in the asset management library of the Epic Games Launcher.
When the scrollbar is dragged with the mouse, it works smoothly, but when scrolling with the mouse wheel, the amount of movement is so small that the wheel must be rotated many times.
You can adjust the amount of screen real estate that the scroll button makes, using the Mouse settings in the OS.
I use a mouse that allows me to click the scroll wheel button and it uses a ‘virtual’ scrolling method on both axis, that is dynamic. The more I move the mouse on that axis, the faster it scrolls. It is both smooth and controllable.
I can also use it in many OS hosted programmes, including browsers.
never used the Virtual Scroll function in the Launcher, I mostly use the Search window to find what I need.
Appreciate the reply.
Indeed, the suggested method may be one of the solutions, but it would require the user to change the system settings, which I don’t think is desirable.
Rather than that method, increasing the amount of scrolling in the launcher itself should be better.
For example, if one scrolls this forum with the mouse wheel in an internet browser without changing the system settings, the scrolling volume is large and smooth.
What about this solution?
“I use a mouse that allows me to click the scroll wheel button and it uses a ‘virtual’ scrolling method on both axis, that is dynamic. The more I move the mouse on that axis, the faster it scrolls. It is both smooth and controllable.”
The more I move the mouse on the axis, the faster it scrolls… This is not the first mouse I have bought over the decades that have this feature.
But that method also does not work with the Epic Games Launcher.
And wouldn’t it be more convenient to just rotate the mouse wheel to scroll than that method?
I gave this feedback because I wanted everyone to be able to use Epic Games Launcher conveniently, rather than solving this problem only for myself.
Understood.
The method of clicking the scroll wheel and just moving the mouse slightly in either axis, means my fingers are fully relaxed and not wriggling about scrolling 2-3 lines at a time, which what I took to be your issue.
To make the Launcher compatible with every mouse with a scroll wheel, outside of the OS settings, would require considerable code along with adjustments open to user preference, that they would need storing to make that sticky. It is doubtful Epic will do that, unless the masses demand it.
