When I try to install the Epic Games Launcher, I get the message “There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected…” . I’m running Windows 7. Can anyone help me?

I’m really, really surprised I had to figure this out by fiddling with my own registry keys but what worked for me was deleting any registry keys that had the associated value EpicInstaller-13.0.0
Your registry keeps track of download details, and sometimes it doesn’t get cleaned properly / old values are used erroneously.
Be really careful to not delete any registry folders / wrong items, you can export them before you delete them. Registry cleaning software is a very popular scam and is more likely to break your computer than you are.
