To prevent this you could use systems like reCaptcha which is free and works like a charm (at least for all people I know)
I don’t know how much of an effort it is for you to implement this recaptcha verification, but it would be great to have on on your register page and maybe to post comments.
This system just takes a second or two and would hopefully remove these spam bots.
The people register in some cases the fake accounts manually then start the spam with a bot and there is others that post too manually the posts of spam
