I am checking the page now and it even installing VS is stating at the bottom this page hasn’t been updated for UE 5.0. Reason I am looking at the install page for Visual Studio is that I am forced to install VS2019 because the project you can download from the launcher will not load if you only have VS2022 installed right now with the latest updates. I still had 4.27 installed but because I don’t have 2019 anymore I am forced to reinstall it just to review this sample content.
Our team of course told me that we wouldn’t need 2019 as I had that installed as well because in this once case months later I am forced to reinstall 2019 and set it up again.
I am normally years behind to prevent these types of issues so I am only upgrading years after everyone else has blazed a trail and I can see it is safe to do but in some scenarios companies run the latest OS and VS and other tools regardless if they are supported or not.
I also know changing your own upgrade cadence isn’t really possible but it would be nice if you could test the projects you are using to promote the engine with the current version of the engine and supported Visual Studio.
Thanks for reading this and any response is welcome. I am know I am ■■■■■■■■ here about something you can’t control.
Adding to this message + I have 3080TI and the Matrix Demo Sample Content is reporting on load that I do not have a video card that supports Nanite and I am using Nanite in other projects so I am confused why this is error is being reported, when I play the demo none of the buildings show up. I haven’t made any changes.
The solution for the Matrix demo issue was to upgrade to Windows 10 to the latest.
