I make a map called SquidLatte’s OG Playground, it is a completely original island with Chapter 1 gameplay, loot, and feel, with the new amendment to 1.7.1 it mentions not being allowed to import any epic season assets however-
They originally made an exception to this when UEFN launched for Chapter 1 recreations, what I want clarification on is if my Map is still allowed to exist with this being so strongly clarified, does it fall under the exception?
Here’s a picture of the (currently unpublished, awaiting clarification) map.
Hi SquidLatte,
I don’t think you’ll get an official yes/no answer here, but I can share my interpretation of that rule.
When they mention “recreated” (or otherwise obtained) assets I imagine two things. 1. Ripping meshes/assets from Fortnite and importing them as your own, and 2. Creating your own version that mimics skins/items.
That second image/message was more about using the BR template map, which - based on your screenshot - looks like you are not using.
When you submit for publishing, let us know if you run into any snags and we can go from there.

I received clarification on this; the first time this rule was clarified was due to creators using BR medallions in their maps that weren’t the actual medallions, this time it was due to creators remaking the Chapter 2 island completely- hence them adding “Maps, Assets, Music” to it, to cover the boss themes, maps, and boss music from Chapter 2, my map has been published fine (on version 25ish currently) and entered discover numerous times, even being submitted to epics picks without being moderated so I can only assume the clarification I received is correct, especially given the medallion one was from epic themselves.
Also a huge map “Go Goated” that they surely know of due to it being a longstanding island, using imported CH1 Assets and has remained up just fine, so I assume that also adds weight to the rule mostly being in place to
A: Stop recreations of non chapter 1 maps
B: stop creators claiming to have items such as medallions that haven’t actually been released.
Thanks for your time, though!
