I had a question about the Epic Content EULA, which says, under “Marketplace Plug-ins”:
Additionally, any Projects you incorporate Plugins into may only be Distributed as Engine Tools under the Unreal Engine Agreement.
So if I use a Marketplace Code Plugin in my game – say, to procedurally generate maps at runtime – and my game links to its object file / DLL / etc, does that mean my game is now an “Engine Tool”, and can’t be sold to the general public?
It sounds like this sentence in the EULA is meant to refer to editor plugins, i.e. plugins that are only used in the Unreal Editor. But the Marketplace has code plugins that are actually meant to be integrated into games.
Could someone from Epic clarify the meaning of this sentence?
