EOS-ERR-1603 Epic Launcher and EOS Installer automatically delete Epic Online Services Windows 10 during installation

Neither the Epic Launcher nor the EpicOnlineServicesInstaller are able to install the Epic Online Services resulting in Fehler EOS-ERR-1603

Windows 10 is freshly installed.

I followed the Troubleshooting-Guide here without solution: https://www.epicgames.com/help/de/c-Category_EpicGamesStore/c-EpicGamesStore_ErrorCodes/fehler-eos-err-1603-a000084905

Notable observation: The EpicOnlineServicesInstaller will create the required “Epic Online Services” Folder but will delete it again during the Installation progress. The Statusbar of the installer goes up and once it reaches 100% it will start to go backwards until it reaches 0%. During this the installer deletes the “Epic Online Services Folder” and then closes itself.

Since you followed the troubleshooting guide, here are some other things you can try.

  • Make sure to run the installer as administrator and check if you have fully permissions on the installed folder.
  • Check your windows update
  • Disable antivirus/Firewall for the installation
  • Install both versions of Microsoft Visual C++ x86 and x64
  • Try installing on a clean different location.
  • If nothing works out re-install Epic Games launcher
