I am brand new to unreal engine so I wanted to start off doing something I thought would be fun - create some landscape for a game map idea! I’m using v.5.3.2.
So far, I’ve started my new project by selecting a first person game template, added global lighting, and created a landscape. I’m using the M_Solid material to avoid textures right now. After only the first few minutes of sculpting my landscape, the entire program has begun to run extremely slow. I have to wait 1-5 sec after every single action for it to catch up which is really inhibiting my workflow. I’m using a new gaming computer with specs below. Also only running Microsoft Edge alongside UE5 so I can browse documentation for learning.
Any ideas on what is causing this problem and how to fix it?
- AMD Ryzen 7 5800X - 8 core at 3.8GHz
- 32GB RAM
- RTX 3060 GPU
- Samsung SSD 980 Pro
- Windows 11 Home
