whenever i try to import anything into unreal engine it instantly crashes, i wanted to add a heright map which was a png image and it would crash i’ve tried bringing in characters i’ve designed and built as well and it crashes also. tried grabbing things from multiple places and it seems to always crash. what can i do its only started doing this in the last few weeks as i never had an issue before importing.
Freezing or crashing issues on Unreal Engine is usually related to VRAM and RAM. (This specific one would be more of a RAM issue if that’s where the problem is) Even though you mentioned that this didn’t use to be a problem, that’s definetly something we should consider on this topic. Would you mind sharing your RAM capacity, speed and latency?

Welcome back to the forum! In relation to your question, I’d be happy to look into it. Which version of UE are you using and what are your system specs? Thanks!
i have 48gigs of ram and use fiberoptic internet that is wired in literally only started having issues in the last 2 weeks after i updated 5.4. And everything works perfect other than the import function like i can use the library to add stuff to a file and its fine but soon as i need to import something its gonzo. supper weird
48gb should be fine. I’ve ran it with 32 on one rig for a while and never had a problem. Is this happening with one specific project or even on a blank project?
