Engine crashes when using shortcut keys

Hi.

when I do it repeatedly and fast (several times in a minute) engine crashes.

“hit play and press shift+F2 then shift+F1 then stop the game”

I only get these two messages to provide

I experience this crash every three hours in average I think it is because I am always makeing the scene lit and unlit

Please do not bump threads that have not gone unanswered for 4 or more days. This clutters the answerhub and makes it difficult to parse through.

I have attempted to reproduce this on my end but thus far have not been successful.

  • Does this occur in a clean, blank project with no additional content or is it limited to one project?
  • Are there any additional steps I can take to reproduce this on my end?
  • Can you post your callstack here?
  • Can you post your crash logs? They can be found at \Unreal Projects\PROJECTNAME\saved\logs\
  • Can you post your dxdiag here so I can take a look?

This is a hard bug to produce and occurs quiet accidentally (when I try to lit and unlit and play and stop the game)

I do not know how to access to callstack

We need to know if this occurs in a blank project so that we can try to reproduce the error here. If this only happens in a custom project can you provide your project for testing. If so, you can send me a link to your ‘zipped’ project on our .

Also, to get your Callstack, next time you experience a crash, cut and paste the information from the Crash Reporter pop-up screen, including your Machine ID.

no crash reporter is displayed after it crashes. the only way to get rid of it is killing its process from task manager

and then that window that i sent its image above is displayed

Can you reproduce the crash with the shortcut keys in a blank, Third Person Template project?

I could not reproduce this issue in a clean project but a clean and empty project can not be a reliable reference.

I have just updated engine to .4 from .2. let me work with it and see if this issue still exists

Please describe what you mean when you say you are making the scene lit and unlit. Please describe this process in detailed steps -thanks

but I use shortcut keys to do this

shift + F2 =Unlit

shift + F3 =Lit

so I play the game then press shift+ F1 to see mouse cursor to test touch interfaces because my project is a mobile project. then I press Shift+ F2 to be able to see dark parts and when I stop the game it crashes without any bug reporter. ( I repeat it all fast several times in a minute)

I have not experienced this issue since I updated engine to .4 from .2

somebody else had this problem [][3] which was resolved after updating

this is not a problem for me anymore after I updated engine so this post can be marked as resolved :slight_smile:

Thanks for responding with the requested information and update that the issue is no longer occurring when you updated to UE4.12.4. Let us know if this problem returns.
