"Enable High DPI Support" will not remain unchecked

Hello! I am very new to Unreal. Just started yesterday with Unreal 5. I fired it up and IMMEDIATELY wanted to increase the font size. 30 minutes of searching revealed a long-standing problem that Unreal has evidently declined to care about?

At any rate, as part of my fiddling, I am trying to uncheck the box for “Enable High DPI Support.” Every time I do so, I am prompted to restart the editor. Then, when it comes back up, the box has magically rechecked itself.

Bug, I presume? Anyone else encountered this?

Version: 5.2.1-26001984+++UE5+Release-5.2
Platform: Windows 11 (22H2) [10.0.22621.2134] (x86_64)

Thanks all!

I just got this same bug. Happened overnight, no update to the engine. Replying here to bump this topic. I’m on 5.3.1. and Windows 10.

Same prob with 5.3.2 on Linux. Except I cannot check it — after restart it’s unchecked again.

Same problems but in Linux (Ubuntu 23.10)

Don’t trust the restart button close the Editor yourself and open it.

What the what?! That worked, thank you! That’s gotta be a bug for sure.

By the way, probably not new for anyone… But I fixed my font size issue by installing the “Editor UI Scale” plugin. I definitley recommend it.
