Empty horizon doesn't work in 2023.1 preview 2

I opened my project in the new preview version and the basic city horizon was visibel. So I went to the Horizon tab and the horizon was not enabled. Turning on and off the horizon made the city disappear. I refreshed my view and was thinking it was all okay, but after saving the file the city was turned on again!

Can you guys take a look at that?

Yes please - same here with the persistent return of the basic city horizon which was specifically excluded from my saved images in a current project.

Merging the file in a new project seems to be working. I have to make all my viewpoints and lighting settings again, but the city background is turned off and keeps turned off so far... Good to see your camera settings now, so you can place the camera's on the same spot. But it is a pain in the *** to do all these settings again.

Thanks for the work-around. No way I'm going to rebuild all my viewports (I have about 50 of them).

Interestingly, I did a save-as, and the new file has now lost the HDRI from all viewports. Looks like some teething problems with this new version. We were warned in the livestream not to use it for existing projects, but like many people was automatically updated to Preview 2 and had no choice.

Hello,

Thank you for reporting and discussing this issue. This issue should be resolved for files that are created in Twinmotion 2023.1 Preview 2, however the development team is aware of persisting issues for files converted from an earlier version of Twinmotion(2023.1 Preview 1 in particular) to 2023.1 Preview 2, in regards to the Horizon background re-appearing.

I am glad to see that merging a file that the issue occurs in with a new Preview 2 project file appears to resolve the issue, though understand this may not be an ideal solution if you have media set up in the project as this would be lost in the merge. The merged file should include the media from the file that is open when the merge is initiated. It may be helpful to try this the other way around - using your existing project file and merging with a saved file of a new, empty Preview 2 project. Be sure to back up your project file first, in the case of an unforeseen error.

I may also recommend trying to delete the Config folder and verifying Twinmotion's files as shown in our Twinmotion is not visible after splash screen article. This will reset Twinmotion to use a default configuration, then ensures the installation does not have any missing or corrupt files. This may help with the HDRI issue as well.

Though I can not guarantee this will resolve this horizon issue, please know that we are anticipating the 2023.1 update to be available soon. If you would like to turn on or off Auto-Updates for Twinmotion, this can be managed through the Epic Games launcher's Settings. Please stay tuned for update announcements, along with their Release Notes here that will contain more information on fixes and known issues.

Thank you,

Morgan

Thanks for this, Morgan.

Fortunately my problem project is on ice for now, but will try the config delete if needed. Looking forward to the 2023.1 release.

I keep getting this problem with the horizon continually appearing as well, except this was a new file started with 2023.1.2 using the architecture template. Deleting the config file or merging projects does not change anything.

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that this issue will still be occurring in recently created files as well. Please know this has been reported to our development staff and we will continue working towards a resolution. Thank you for your understanding.

Best Regards,

Morgan

Any update on this? New user, latest version, and this is still an issue for new project created yesterday.
