Emissive Material, Lightfunction with opacity mask

Hi there, i’m struggling right now with a emissive Material which is set up with a an opacity mask to get a laser grid effect. As I’m shooting from topview and above some volumetric clouds (UDS) the emissive object located on the ground are completely visible through the clouds. I noticed if I switch the material domain from Surface to Light Function the light is, as wanted, hidden where it gets cloudy - but i can’t apply the grid mask in the opcity slot anymore as light function has none.

Maybe there is a workaround where i can set the material domain to ligth function AND have this mask applied on the emissive object (plane)? Or a different solution - any tips wanted!
