This elven environment is inspiered both old drawings by churches, Tolkien as well as Barbie Fairytopia. I want the person who enters this environment to feel the nostalgia and magic of childhood.
And the story I want to convey is that we are hosting a grand celebration for the Queen, who is turning 500 years old. That is why the cake has five candles—one candle for each hundred years.
Seated in front of her are those closest to her from the Great Council. In the middle, behind them, sits the middle class, and furthest out sits the lowest-ranking servants. Unlike the other tables, theirs have no plates—only glasses and carafes filled with some kind of drink.
Hey this week I made some progress on the blocking as well as adding in my hero asset which I still will make some changes to. I am still not a hundered 100% sure if I want the tables to be some type of more grey wood or marmor. I am also been planing where to do the trimsheets. It will be the walls as well as ceiling.
I’m loving the shape of this dining hall already. The way everything is placed feels purposeful and interesting. I also enjoy seeing the materials you plan on using. It gives an almost ethereal idea to the mind.
Will there be sconce style lighting or something more akin to lanterns?
Hello! Thank you so much, I really appreiate it alot :). There will be this crystal lamp like this. I might make it silver instead. Then I want to make the windows kinda similar to church windos letting in a lot of colered light. Then I have this idea in mind to add bellflowers as smaller lamps. I feel like it would go very well with the coler palate of the throne.
Update
This week I first started modell one table but it ended up not really fitting the vibe. So I choose go with an other type of table, that I might just modify a bit, depending on what my teacher thinks. And a also started making the chairs. I want to show how the people sitting close the throne is more importent so they will have more fancy chairs.
Hi everyone !
This week I been doing the walls which are not finshed yet, I am still trying to find good texture for the walls. This one I put on is defentily more of what I want but I feel like something is off. I tried more tiles aswell but it wasnt giving. As for the the windows its also not done, just a trial. To get the fealing of the room more. I have some assets that the uvs still need to be checked on right now. To be honest I feel like this room is as messy as my mind . But I think in these moments we just need to trust the processes. As they say learning is not linaer. Any tips on opal/ Iridescence tiles or other that could fit the walls I would really appriecte it.
Hopefully nextweek everything is getting more togheter.
This is gonna look so gorgeous amidst everything. Also, looking at your recent posts with the gorgeous fairy-like wings on the back of the throne has me thrilled. Your texturing and color choices are gorgeous. I cannot wait to see the complete environment!!
This week I finished the table and chairs, I am making the walls floor and pillars but they are yet not done. My inspiration for the floor is Tolkens own drawing. I played with colours but i m not quite happy yet with my result, i will work on it more this week. Lastly for the walls i will make some changes but I want to still keep the opal shimmer but as a design i will try to follow that concept.
This week I adjusted the lighting to create a more natural look. I still plan to add additional lighting that reflects the colors coming through the stained-glass windows.
I also modeled the ribbed vault on the ceiling, which helps bring the architectural style of the room together. In addition, I finished the columns. I textured them separately from the wall section that connects them, and then combined the meshes afterward. By assigning different materials in Maya, I was able to keep the original wall texture on the wall areas while applying separate textures to the columns.
I know I’ve reached out here often, but I love seeing your work progress. The texture work on the stone to work it into the scene is absolutely gorgeous. The ribbed vault was a nice touch and a great attention to detail. I know a lot of times people don’t keep the ceilings in mind, thinking people won’t look up, but it really does bring a room together.
