I am making a material… i go to drag and drop a texture from the content browser into the material editor, and the material editor disappears. I have searched and searched, read through the entire documentation on layout and cannot find how to simply “pin” an editor window.
There has to be some preference I’m missing or something. It seems like the default should be to leave the window where it is, lol.
I think by clicking on the content browser you’re sending the material editor to the back.
You know you can drag the tabs out of the window? That makes them independent windows.
For now, the simplest thing is probably for you to manually add a texture sample in the material editor (right click - type texture sample). With that new node selected, change the texture in the Details panel of the material editor.
