So in 5.4.4 there is sometimes (maybe after sleep, can’t be sure) a bug that viewport keeps resizing in a chaotic fashion. Like it does not know what scale it wants to be. Only in lit mode. If you switch to unlit it stops jittering. You switch to lit, it jitters again forcing editor restart. I started playing with resolution percentage and I could at some point see a split of lit fully rendered scene in left corner, while rest of the screen I saw some wires of some geometry. Don’t know if its 5.4.4 or latest Nv (gameready) drivers that cause it. I can’t even be sure if its latest version of Unreal at fault here because I have been using it sparingly this year.
Oh and if I changed entire editor window size from maximized to something smaller, the bug stops. If i maximize again it starts jittering again. Or should I say rapidly switching between correct size and something partially scaled down.
Yes I use DLSS, but if I do dlss disable command and switch to TAA bug remains. Switching to TSR fixes it while its on. So who knows. It is still possibility even with DLSS disabled with command just the fact that it runs in the background in the engine messes something up. So who knows if its DLSS plugin or 5.4.4 or Nv driver.I may be forced to install studio drivers one even though I am against them, the concept of using separate driver for yourself and separate one for game users is absurd. I was just wondering if someone else has that issue as I am trying to pin down the source.
I was running Unreal + DLSS + gameready drivers in the past. One of the updates to one of those broke something (in editor that is).
DLSS is causing this. This is an Nvidia driver bug. You could try disabling DLSS completely rather than using the console command, and use TSR temporarily
I have reported this and other related issues to Nvidia around a year ago.
You don’t have to use separate drivers; just like how you can use Unreal Engine while having the Game Ready driver, you can play games while having the Studio driver. You simply have to change the driver preference, which might fix the issue immediately.
Yeah its DLSS, can confirm. What a joke.
I can actually force it through f11 in editor and when disabled dlss plugins and restarted editor it works fine.
