Editor viewport camera control customization

Hi there,

I get very bad carpal tunnel-like symptoms from holding down my right mouse button all day to fly the camera around the editor. I’ve tried the settings that enables flying the camera with WASD with no right-mouse button required, but I find it strange to use, and I still end up using the RMB to rotate the camera anyway.

Could you let users set a custom mouse button or keyboard key to toggle the equivalent of the RMB? I suppose a simple alternative would be one of the thumb buttons, but I think I’d prefer something like the spacebar (after remapping the current spacebar functionality, of course).

I’ve had this problem in nearly every level editor over the years, and the problems are unfortunately getting worse for me.

Unfortunately those types of mouses are not currently officially supported with UE4 but Epic Games and the community are actively working towards supporting 3D Mouses, which you can follow the progress on that here: Support for Space Navigator 3D Mouse? - Feedback for Unreal Engine team - Unreal Engine Forums

Thanks - I’ll give that a shot when support comes out. In the meantime, maybe I’ll see if our engineers can come up with a tweak…
