Editor pauses on change variable to read

Engine (pauses/goes loop) and eats CPU after changing variable reference to read connected to event call delegate that new reference doesn’t have. Tested on UMG references.

Break links not appear and editor doesn’t know what to do :frowning:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Could you provide screen shots of any blueprints/widgets that may be involved?

Reproduced in clean project

  1. Create WidgetA

  2. Add event dispatcher to WidgetA

  3. Create WidgetB

  4. Create Blueprint

  5. Create function with UserWidget input

  6. Add reference variables for WidgetA and WidgetB in your Blueprint


  1. Drag and drop WidgetB reference on WidgetA to change it

  2. Editor freezes
