Editor Optimization On Standard Build PC?

Hi! I’m trying to get back into using the editor.
I recently purchased a HP All in one beats special edition.
It has substandard specs , nothing over the top , but the Epic Game Launcher and editor chews up almost all of my RAM / CPU resources

Is there any way I can optimize both so I can use them without my PC going crazy?

How big is the project you are working on?
You can close the launcher, It is not needed to use the editor.

I am working on a game based off the rolling template (C++) and UE4 + VS14 end up using ~4-6GiB (Total used ram ~6.5-8GiB)

Have you adjusted the scalability settings in the editor?

Well, you don’t have a dedicated graphics card, so your ram being used by the onboard graphics as well as being used as system memory. But closing the launcher does help reduce some overhead.
