Editor lagging and unresponsive except in viewport

After building Unreal Engine and the project editor screen opens, Only the view port is responding to my actions and once my mouse hovers or clicks on any interface other than the viewport the engine freezes, and by freezing i mean that it keeps responding to every action I do but I don’t see any differences.
Eg. the highlight that triggers once my mouse hovers on any icon not working.
and in order to stop that graphical freezing I have to minimize the engine and then maximize it every 5 seconds…

You said you built the engine, so you are using the source version from GitHub?

Also, could I get a copy of your dxdiag? Follow the link below for info on how to find it. If you are on a Mac, I just need your system specs.

In the meantime try going to Show in the perspective viewport and turning off some of the more processor intensive effects like anti-aliasing, etc.

It actually updates only in viewport but not on the rest of interfaces.

Unfortunately I believe the issue you are having is because your computer doesn’t meet the requirements to run the editor.

Here’s what we recommend:

Desktop PC or Mac
Windows 7 64-bit or Mac OS X 10.9.2 or later
Quad-core Intel or AMD processor, 2.5 GHz or faster
NVIDIA GeForce 470 GTX or AMD Radeon 6870 HD series card or higher
8 GB RAM

Fortunately, I updated my Graphic driver by downloading the ATI catalyst center and everything got fixed
