Hello,
I’ve tried downloading and installing the editor and epic games launcher multiple times and still can not get the editor to run. I seen on other forums that you need directx11 but my laptop is running directx12 and still no joy. I have even tried downloading an older version of unreal engine and running that, version 4.7.6 works but when I go back to try run a newer version the problem persist, it will begin loading for a few seconds and then stop.
Any help would be appreciated on this?

When you try to open the editor, do you receive any sort of error message? How far does it get before failing to open? Does the Unreal Project Browser open successfully? Does it fail upon creating new projects?

Ich habe das Problem auch gerade Wenn man Engine Editor startet, kommt bei mir zuerst der normale schwarze Streifen und dann die Fehlermeldung. Der Editor selber öffnet sich nicht mal. Siehe Anhang.link text
