Editor didint work please help, everything is black

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a major issue with my Unreal Engine 5 editor. Everything is completely black, and I can’t see anything. Even when I press Play, the screen remains black. I’ve tried opening other projects, but they are also showing up as black.

I don’t know what to do at this point, and I’m unable to work on anything. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated!

MY PC has an RTX 4080 graphics card, 16GB of RAM, an i9 processor, and 32GB of RAM. It was working fine before, and suddenly everything turned black.

What happens when you make a new map?

When I create a new map, level, or project, it doesn’t make a difference; the viewport remains black regardless. Even uninstalling and reinstalling the software didn’t help. All drivers are up to date, and my computer meets the minimum requirements.

Someone else just solved this with

In the main editor window:

Window → Load layout → Default editor layout

I think maybe you’ve just closed the default viewport?
