Editor delay on end simulation in 4.14

Sorry for the lousy quality, put sound on to see exactly when I start and end the simulation. On the right is 4.14 and on the left is 4.13, both of these are blank blueprint projects.

I forgot to include it in the video but testing all the play modes:

  • Selected Viewport = lag
  • Simulating new window = no lag
  • Standalone game = no lag
  • Simulate = lag

So I am guessing the issue is within the viewport somewhere? I have no idea how to debug or reproduce this bug since this is running a fresh install of 4.14 and I have also tested a fresh install of 4.14 on my other computer and it works fine.

So the other thing I’m suspecting is that something from the previous version is getting carried on to the new 4.14 install? The only thing left for me to try is to remove all the UE4 versions completely and reinstall it which I may try later (Australia internet is a tad bit slow).

So in summary I would suspect the bug is either:

  1. an editor setting or plugin (I looked through plugins though) that somehow got carried over
  2. an issue with simulating in selected view port

Hi fpwong,

Thank you for submitting a bug report. I have reproduced the issue and logged it as UE-38718 which you can track on the following link: Unreal Engine Issues. Please be aware that since the issue must be reviewed and prioritized by our development staff, it may be a while before it can be addressed.

We are still looking into this, however, I upgraded my Nvidia drivers this morning to version 375.95 (there were issues with the previous version) and since then have not been able to reproduce the issue. If you have not already, please try updating your drivers and let me know if it resolves the issue.

Hi ,
Unfortunately I’m running an AMD card. Updated my drivers to make sure but it didn’t fix the issue. In case it helps, I’m using a Radeon R9 270x on Windows 10.
