Editor Camera Drifting Left

Hey guys,

Something very strange happened when I opened up the engine today (4.25.4). The camera in the editor view started drifting to the left. I opened up a different level, same thing. Then I opened up a different project, and same thing. Tried closing and restarting, it’s still there. The levels PLAY normally, but I can’t make the camera sit still in editor mode.

What is causing this, and how do I make it stop it? I tried resetting the editor settings back to default, but that didn’t fix it. What else to try? I feel like it’s probably something stupid I did, but for the life of me I have no idea what to look for. It wasn’t doing this yesterday when I shut it down.

Thanks,

Ron

do you maybe have a gamepad plugged in? if so check that the sticks are resting in their center position

I do, but that didn’t seem to be the problem (the sticks work in play mode, but don’t do anything in the editor, and in play mode everything worked fine). I don’t know what it was. I rebooted the computer and now everything is good again. Very strange. Nothing else seemed to be affected, just UE4, so I can’t imagine what it was.

Anyway, fixed now, so never mind, and thanks for the advise.

Just wanted to add that this will sometimes happen to me when I have a controller plugged in and the sticks are in resting position.

For the future, unplug your controller or wiggle a stick in the viewport to stop it (must have the viewport active, gamepad does affect viewport).
It is controller drift, even if they sticks are perfectly centered.
