Editing Two Maps Simultaneously

How do I have two tabs open to edit 2+ maps at the same time? I can’t find an option to open a different map in another tab/window.

Hi!

You can edit more than one level in one copy of the editor, if these levels are Sub Levels. UE4 editor does not allow you to edit multiple different maps in one place. But you can open your project in multiple editors and edit several different maps at the same time.

How to open a project in multiple editors?

click on the project file in the project folder

Here’s a nice windows trick:
Shift-click an application in your taskbar to launch another instance of it (doesn’t work for everything)

You can open multiple maps with ActorPalette.
But its more to open Asset Islands or references.

For me, the best example is when you have an asset level where all assets are located, and artists have prepared examples of how to use them together. This way, you can easily look at the references and just click on the asset to drag it into your level.
