Heya Jared/Custard!
So from my understanding you have created a landscape but are now wishing to place assets a “barracks” on the land and make it look more realistic.
You can play around with the Brush size and strength values to make big and minor adjustments depending on what you’re needing , I learnt a lot from just getting my hands dirty and playing around and seeing what works.
Also i would strongly recommend to dive into the Landscape documentation HERE: Creating Landscapes in Unreal Engine | Unreal Engine 5.1 Documentation
And is great resource to get the basics , Also i would recommend looking up Landscape tutorials on you tube and example like this: Unreal Engine 4 Tutorial: Landscape Tool (english) - YouTube
His tutorial series are a great starting place.
As always if you have any questions ill try my best to help point you in the right direction.
Cheers,
EDIT: also a mod may want to move this to Content creating or another forum for this rather than Blueprint scripting help.
hey bud, thanks for the reply, i do understand on how to use the landscape tool
we have created a map and buildings etc, the thing is In RUNTIME, the player needs to place a building down, and it basically needs to do that
thats the issue i am trying to figure out.
regards,
Jared.
I’ve Been looking into Runtime terrain deformation and Currently out of the box unreal wont do that, As far as i know.
Now i have heard somewhere on the forum (cant find the link) that editing the terrain source you’re more than able to do so. also looking into Voxcel based smooth terrain you may beable to achieve something.
But as i’am still a newbie just looking to help others I’m afraid i don’t have a diffinative answer
Thanks bud, i also have been searching around, I also found that it has to be done in the source engine, Thanks for the help.
Can or has anyone tried this?
Regards,
Jared.
