Editing animation in blender, have trouble getting it back into UE4

I exported an animation in UE4 to .fbx format. Imported into blender and without making any changes, immediately exported from blender into .fbx. When I try to re-import the file back into UE4, it doesn’t work.

After doing some research, I’ve realized the process is a bit more complex than that. You can’t simply go from UE4 -> Blender -> UE4.

So, what am I missing? What are the in between steps?

Try UE4-Tools. There’s a link for a download in the Content Creation forum. It’s pretty awesome so far but I’ve never tried to import an animation from UE4. It does a great job of exporting animations to UE4 for the default mannequin though.
