Thank you for reporting this issue. I have just tested this issue out with a quick setup and have been unsuccessful. Here is what I did:
Opened a new first person template project
Created a Widget with a Text box anchored to the top left of the screen
Added nodes to show the widget via the level blueprint
Launched to an iPad Air
After doing of this, I was able to select the application, and no crash occurred. Would there be any additional steps that i would be missing? If you created a new template project, does the game still crash?
Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.
well its editable Textbox (under common tab) and it have Alpha 0 on background (its transparent). Tapping on it to change text crashes the game. Thats all the info i have. ipad air 2, ios: 8.1.0 on it (soon 8.1.2)
I have just tested out your issue once again and i am still not able to reproduce a crash. I have also tested this issue with a Mac and have not been able to see a crash. I am using the iPad Air 2 on 8.1.
Would you be using the source build of UE4 or the Binary build? Have you tested this issue with the new 4.7 preview or an older version to see if it still crashes? If you do decide to use 4.7 preview, be sure to open a copy and do not convert in place as that build is an unstable build.
Did not tested it on 4.7 ( i am waiting for stable build). I am using binary build. ANd i cant use this project on lower version than 4.6 (thats when i started addind UMG widgets). I will test it on 4.7 and will report back. Thank you for your time
Thank you for providing a sample project of the issue that you have been seeing. I was able to recreate the issue easily when touching the Editable Textbox. I have placed Jira report 7433 into our Bug database so that the issue may be addressed in a future release.
I have just looked into the JIRA report that I have written and the issue has been resolved. It is showing that it should be fixed in the 4.7 release of UE4. I am unsure as to when 4.7 will be released, but the issue has been addressed and the fix implemented.
