I’m excited to share Echoes of the Wildwater, a free playable exploration demo built in Unreal Engine 5.
About the demo
Explore a hand-tuned ocean-and-mountain landscape, follow waypoints across cliffs, shores, and high trails, and complete a short atmospheric journey. There are no enemies or timers—the focus is on terrain, scale, traversal, and visual atmosphere.
Technical highlights
- Unreal Engine 5 environment using Lumen lighting and Nanite geometry
- Wide vistas and terrain landmarks designed to support readable waypoint navigation
- A compact exploration loop that can be completed in a single sitting
- Windows demo with simple third-person controls
The concept, scene direction, level beats, and traversal flow were first prototyped through Seele AI, then rebuilt and polished in Unreal Engine 5.
