Hello everyone,
I’m Christopher Hannon, author and creator of Echoes of Asgard. I’ve published The King’s Road and am developing its world in Unreal Engine, alongside HEARTH, an early prototype for creator-hosted gatherings.
The longer-term idea is to give people their own hearth: a welcoming space where they can host readings, performances and conversations, and eventually build distinctive environments using modular assets. Echoes of Asgard would be the first story world demonstrating that approach.
We have existing Unreal environments, a working attendee-preview interface and reported multi-client lifecycle tests. The next milestone is a small shared desktop event with synchronized performance and server-enforced access. Those capabilities are still being developed; I’m not presenting this as a finished platform.
I understand the 2026 MegaGrants submission window has closed. I’d like to use the time before a future cycle to prepare a strong, evidence-led proposal, with clear milestones, a costed technical plan and something useful for the wider Unreal community.
Is there a recommended channel for pre-application process questions? I’d also welcome introductions to Unreal developers with relevant experience in authoritative multiplayer systems or shared live media, for an initial conversation about the technical direction.
The published story and current creative work are at https://echoes-of-asgard.com/.
Thank you,
Christopher Hannon
