Simple pivot tools for Unreal Engine. Quickly move, copy, paste, and reset pivots for selected level actors without leaving the editor.
OmniPivot Free is a lightweight Unreal Engine editor plugin for quickly adjusting actor pivots directly inside the editor.
It is designed for level designers, solo developers, environment artists, kitbash users, marketplace asset users, and beginners who often work with meshes that have awkward or inconvenient pivot points.
Bad pivots can make placement, snapping, rotation, modular building, and scene setup frustrating. OmniPivot Free gives you a clean editor panel with common pivot presets, corner presets, copy/paste pivot tools, reset tools, multi-selection support, and an optional Details panel shortcut.
OmniPivot Free is focused, safe, and simple to use.
It adjusts actor pivot offsets in the editor and does not permanently rewrite Static Mesh asset data.
Main Features
Quick Pivot Presets
Move the selected actor pivot to common useful positions:
Center
Top Center
Bottom Center
Left
Right
Front
Back
These presets are useful for props, doors, modular pieces, imported meshes, kitbash assets, and environment objects.
Corner Pivot Presets
OmniPivot Free includes corner-based pivot placement for bounding-box corners:
Top Front Left
Top Front Right
Top Back Left
Top Back Right
Bottom Front Left
Bottom Front Right
Bottom Back Left
Bottom Back Right
Corner pivots are especially useful for modular assets, blockout pieces, snapping workflows, and objects that need predictable rotation or alignment points.
Copy and Paste Pivot
Copy the pivot offset from one selected actor and paste it onto another compatible actor.
This is helpful when several placed actors need the same pivot behavior or when you want to quickly repeat a pivot setup across similar objects.
Reset Pivot
Reset the selected actor pivot back to its default offset.
This gives you a quick fallback when testing different pivot positions.
Multi-Selection Support
Apply pivot presets to multiple compatible actors at once.
When multiple actors are selected, OmniPivot Free processes each compatible actor using its own bounds.
Selection Status and Feedback
The panel shows clear selection and compatibility feedback so users can quickly understand whether the current selection can be adjusted.
Unsupported actors are skipped safely.
Optional Details Panel Integration
OmniPivot Free includes an optional compact pivot section for the Unreal Details panel.
When enabled, selected compatible actors can show quick pivot controls directly in the Details panel, reducing the need to keep the main OmniPivot window open at all times.
Clean Dockable Editor Panel
OmniPivot Free opens as a dockable Unreal Editor panel.
Menu location:
Tools → ECal Studios → OmniPivot Free
The interface is designed to be simple, readable, and beginner-friendly while still being useful for daily editor work.
Why Use OmniPivot Free?
Unreal Engine projects often include assets with pivots that are not ideal for production work.
Bad pivots can make it harder to:
Rotate doors, gates, props, and mechanical objects
Snap modular environment pieces
Place kitbash meshes accurately
Align objects during level design
Work with imported assets from Blender or marketplace packs
Build scenes quickly without fighting awkward object placement
OmniPivot Free helps make these common fixes faster and easier.
Example Use Cases
Move a door pivot toward the hinge side
Move a modular wall pivot to a corner for easier snapping
Set props to bottom center for cleaner placement
Copy a useful pivot setup from one actor to another
Reset actor pivots after testing different options
Quickly clean up imported meshes while building a level
Adjust placed actor pivots without leaving Unreal Engine
Important Safety Note
OmniPivot Free adjusts actor pivot offsets in the editor.
It does not permanently bake or rewrite Static Mesh asset pivot data.
This makes it a safe, lightweight workflow tool for placed actors in a level.
For permanent mesh pivot baking, batch asset processing, saved preset libraries, advanced visual gizmos, or marketplace-prep workflows, use OmniPivot Pro.
